In memory of Billie Grace Richards
On the 23rd of October 2021 we lost our youngest child to ALL: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Billie had also picked up an infection which she had throughout her organs. Billie had a fight on her hands she couldn't win, we lost her in a three-day window from us finding out she was sick to her passing away.
Our family is putting together a number of events to remember our beautiful Billie girl who was only 3 years old when she passed away. We would like to donate back to everyone who helped us throughout this time including Ronald McDonald House Charities Sydney.
Ronald McDonald House in Randwick put us up in Sydney at no cost, not just to myself, Daniel and Arbee but also our parents so they could both be there for Billie and to support us. We also stayed a couple of nights after Billie had passed away as we weren't ready to come home. Ronald McDonald House in Randwick is such a great place not only was it somewhere to stay really close to Billie but they also fed us 3 meals a day. They had lots of little surprises for Arbee such as colouring books, lego sets, books, and things for her to do while we were there and at the hospital.
As a family we had used Ronald McDonald House Charities Sydney for Daniel's nephew Ajay Beer when he was diagnosed with Lissencephaly as a little boy. They did many trips from Wagga to Sydney from the time Ajay was 2 years old right up until 2019 the year before he passed away at the age of 15. They supplied accommodation for our family during his stays. They also organised day trips to the movies and aquarium the staff were very lovely and welcoming and helped with anything that was needed. The staff at the House took time out of their shift to occupy Isaac which is Ajay's brother who was also very little at the time.
